Port Authority Transit (PAT)

The Port Authority Fee for the 2007-2008 academic year is $36 per semester. This fee is mandatory for all degree-seeking students participating in academic activity within Pittsburgh.

Carnegie Mellon and Port Authority Transit (PAT) have an agreement which allows for benefits eligible faculty, staff, and students to ride any PAT vehicle, for either business or personal travel, without charge. The rider is required to show valid university ID imprinted with a PAT transit icon and expiration date. Boarding a bus without a valid ID is considered theft and will result in a City of Pittsburgh citation, and may result in enforcement by Port Authority and by the university.
