Racquetball Club

Description:

Members of the CMU Racquetball Club share a common interest in the sport of racquetball. Membership is free and open to all students and faculty, regardless of age, race, creed, sex, and skill level. Meeting two times weekly, the Club strives to improve player performance through challenge games, teaching/coaching, ladders, tournaments, and regular practice. The Club's goal is to become a regular member of the Eastern Collegiate Racquetball Conference, the main league for intercollegiate competition on the east coast. We have also hosted several very popular mini tournaments at the UC.

Relay For Life

Description:

Relay For Life is an organization that holds an event once a year to raise money to give to the American Cancer Society to help those affected with cancer. The event is open to all Carnegie Mellon students and Pittsburgh residents. On the day of the event, teams of 8-15 people take turns walking around a track for 24 straight hours. While waiting their turn on the track, team's camp out at the site and enjoy themselves. All money raised supports cancer research, local cancer patient services and public education. We had great success this year with several students and a good deal of members of the community attending our event and helping us raise over $50,000! Come be a part of an awesome organization for a great cause!

We are a group of students concerned about the treatment of the unborn in this country. The mission of the CMU Respect Life group is to educate and inform the Carnegie Mellon campus of the statistics and facts on the dangers of abortions. We want to make sure that all human life is cherished from conception to natural death. We believe that abortions only devalue human life in the eyes of society and we desire to respectfully alter the perception in the world and on our campus that abortion is a woman¬タルs only choice.

Our organization is dedicated to promoting Russian culture in the CMU community as well as in the surrounding Pittsbugh area. We organize events for people interested in Russian language, food, music, history, and culture to come together and learn more. We also help incoming students of Eastern European/USSR backgrounds adjust to coming to CMU.
