Lambda Sigma Society is a national honor society for second year men and women dedicated to the purpose of fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and the spirit of service, and to promoting the interests of our university in every possible way. Membership in Lambda Sigma is not only recognition for accomplishment, but also a challenge to serve throughout college. Lambda Sigma offers opportunities for personal growth, leadership experience, a sense of involvement on the Carnegie Mellon campus, and the friendship of other student leaders/scholars. As a member of a group of outstanding second-year students, members are challenged to fulfill their own intellectual and leadership potential while serving Carnegie Mellon and the Pittsburgh community.

LiNK stands for Liberty in North Korea. It is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-ethnic and non-religious group formed in pursuit of the following mission statement: To educate the world about the humanitarian crisis in North Korea. To protect North Koreans in pursuit of freedom, seeking asylum, and in need of assistance- wherever they can be reached. To advocate for human rights, fundamental freedoms, and humanitarian aid on behalf of the North Korean people. To provide, within the capacity of our resources and mandate, assistance to North Koreans, NGO's, governments, and other partners working toward the same mission. Lunar Gala

Description:

The Lunar Gala Fashion Show is an annual event that takes place at Carnegie Mellon University once every February on a Saturday evening. Its mission is to celebrate cultural awareness, creativity thorough expression, and appreciation for fashion and dance. It has been a part of Carnegie Mellon's community for over 9 years and has grown to be one of the greater student-run events that happen throughout the year. Each year the collaboration of over 100 students makes the show possible. Students take roles that include models, designers, dancers, committee members, and helpers. Together they create a vision, make the vision tangible, and execute it in a clean, polished, and professional manner.
