IAESTE Carnegie Mellon

IAESTE Carnegie Mellon is a non-profit leadership organization on campus, devoted to providing a viable way for Carnegie Mellon students to gain greater cultural awareness. We are one of many local chapters at different college and university campuses across the US, of the national organization IAESTE United States. Among our aims is to organize international internships for CMU students to further international exchange, leadership training, global skills development and technical education. Who We Are: The Carnegie Mellon chapter of the Impact Movement is called to be the "College Christians￢ﾀﾙ Alternative" ! A group committed to promoting the things of God on their college campus, in the midst of a campus culture that promotes everything contrary to God. Christians called to make the things of God more attractive than the things of the world. We hold Friday Night Alternatives (large group meetings), bible studies, parties, real discussions on real hot issues, outreach, concerts and much.. much more!!! Indian Graduate Student Association
Description:
The purpose of the Indian Graduate Students' Association as stated in the By-Laws is: 1. Forum for Indian students to meet and present their views. 2. Unite Indians and people of other races by celebrating and learning from diversity. 3. Act as a conduit for Indian students to experience the rich culture of America and encourage cultural exchange. 4. Co-ordinate with other organizations on campus and in Pittsburgh to organize events of mutual interest. 5. Organize get-togethers and fun events for graduate student holidays; arrange information sessions regarding academics/jobs; and welcome and guide the new graduate students.

International Freestylers
Description:
Mission Statement - The purpose of iFS is to allow students of the Carnegie Mellon Univerity community to share their interest and knowledge of dance, particularly dances pertaining to but not limited to those within the international hip-hop culture. All Styles of dances are welcome and are encouraged to take part in iFS. More diversity and integration of dances will enhance the experience each member has within the organizations. iFS is unique because it eliminates the need for auditions by accommodating as many students as possible and does away with the short-term quality of the current dance organizations by holding weekly meetings throughout the academic year. At the same time, iFS continues to remain purely recreational as it is free for all participants and non-committal for those who do decide not to perform. Furthermore, iFS fills the gap for those who are looking for a hip-hop oriented dance activity. Purpose and Objectives - To teach and encourage dancers of all level's to learn new styles of dance and develop their freestyling ability - To educate the Pittsburgh community on all the elements of hip hop, including M.Cing, Graffiti, DJing, and Bboying.

International Relations Organization
Description:
The International Relations Organization ￢ﾀﾓ Model United Nations aims to facilitate global awareness and the debate of international issues relevant to the world today for members of the campus community through mock debates on campus, and by attending collegiate MUN Conferences. Not only do we try to foster a global learning for the on campus community, but we also involve high school students through our annual MUN Conference.
