Minadeo Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth grade school in the Pittsburgh Public School System. The school is named in memory of John Minadeo, a patrol boy at Gladstone School who gave his life to help save others from a run-away car.

Rainbow Kitchen Community

Since 1984, Rainbow Kitchen Community Services, a non-profit 501c3 human service agency, has focused on helping individuals and families of the Steel Valley area cope with inadequate incomes by providing the basic stepping stones needed to work towards independence. While the organization was established in response to the closing of the steel mills, which displaced thousands of workers living in the area, to this day poverty remains.
