Conference Room Reservation

Student Life Conference room

There is a small conference room in the Student Life Office that may be reserved for meetings and projects, Monday through Friday between 8:30 and 7:00pm. Please contact Angela Seals at to inquiry about availability. Student groups are welcome!


The Student Life Office offers a collection of Community Rooms available for use by Carnegie Mellon residents and staff. These rooms vary in size, shape, and ambiance to suit the needs of lyour specific function or activity. Included in this group of rooms are:

Donner Reading Room

The Donner Reading Room is located on the first floor of the Donner residence hall. It is an "L" shaped room with a piano. There are six electrical outlets. The room has fourteen upholstered chairs, two wooden chairs, one sofa, two loveseats and two large study tables. As is, the room seats twenty-four comfortably. The room can seat 30-50 people at a sit-down dinner.

Donner Meeting Room

The Donner Meeting Room is a small room located in the basement of the Donner residence hall. The room is set up conference room style with a large table and approximately 12 chairs. The room is separated from a kitchen area by a sliding door, which makes the room convenient to use for events at which food will be served. Although the room is unlocked space, to avoid scheduling conflicts you will need to reserve the space through the Student Life Office. When the room is not reserved, the room may be used on a first come, first served basis.

Mudge Lounge

The Mudge Lounge is a large rectangular room with a fireplace and a piano. There are two computer outlets and several electrical outlets both on the walls and on the floor in the middle of the room. Although there are ten lamps, lighting is dim so you may need to arrange to have extra lamps brought in for your event. There are five sofas, five wing chairs, and one settee. As is, the room seats twenty-three people comfortably. The room can seat 40 people at a sit-down dinner.

West Wing Tech Lounge

The West Wing Tech Lounge is located on the first floor of the West Wing residence hall. It is a small, rectangular room with wood paneling, and is ideal for small, formal meetings. An inside door connects it to the West Wing TV Room. There are five electrical outlets, two computer outlets and a telephone. There are sixteen chairs and two large conference tables. The room can seat 12 - 15 people at a sit-down dinner.

West Wing TV Room

The West Wing TV Room is located on the first floor of the West Wing residence hall. It is a rectangular room which has two doors connecting it to both the Tech Lounge and the West Wing Rec Room. There are eight electrical outlets (two on each wall), four computer outlets, and a slide screen. The room has twenty-one upholstered chairs and a cable television set. The room can seat 40 - 50 people at a sit down dinner.

Morewood Common Room

The Morewood Common Room is an "L : shaped room lwhich has two windows on the outside wall and one door on the opposite wall. There are six electrical outlets and two computer outlets. Although there are several lamps, lighting is dim so you may need to arrange to have extra lamps brought in. The room has several upholstered chairs and sofas which seat approximately 15 people. The room could seat 30 - 35 people at a sit-down dinner.
