You can contact many different resources for information and support. Whatever your decision, please know that a lot of people are available and willing to help you including:
Sexual Assault Advisors (.pdf)
They have been trained to provide resources, support and information about sexual assault. A list of Sexual Assault Advisors can also obtained by calling the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs at 412-268-2075, the Student Life Office at 412-268-2142 or University Police at 412-268-2323.
Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) – 1-866-END-RAPE
PAAR maintains a 24 hour hotline for survivors and those seeking assistance for survivors of sexual assault.
Student Health Services – 412-268-2157
They can conduct a general examination and also offer treatment for potential exposure to sexually transmitted diseases or to prevent unwanted pregnancy. To talk with a nurse or schedule an appointment, call 412-268-2157.
Counseling and Psychological Services – 412-268-2922
Counselors are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
University Police – 412-268-2323
If the assault happened on or near campus, a report can be filed with the University Police. They can also provide assistance with contacting local law enforcement if the assault did not happen in Pittsburgh.
Office of Community Standards – 412-268-2142
The Coordinator of Community Standards can provide assistance with options within the university’s disciplinary system including disciplinary board hearings and no-contact agreements.
