Residential Life Staff
Several staff people will be working to ensure your House experience is a positive one: a Housefellow, one (or sometimes two) Community Advisor(s), the Resident Assistants, and the Facilities Coordinator.
A Housefellow is a member of the professional Student Affairs staff on campus who leads a specific residence House. Your Housefellow is one of your most important advocates on campus, someone who will help you make a successful transition to Carnegie Mellon, as well as someone to help you with any significant personal or academic issues that may come up along the way.
A Community Advisor (CA) is a senior student leader who provides leadership for the development of a strong community by facilitating resident and staff involvement within the house. Each CA works to ensure that life in his/her House is engaging, active and vibrant.
A Resident Assistant (RA) is a student leader who provides resources and support to the residents of a specific floor or small area community within a House. Your RA will get to know you on a personal level and will work to ensure that your experience at Carnegie Mellon is a positive, growth-filled one.
The Facilities Coordinator (FC) is a professional staff member from the Housing & Dining Services team who oversees the physical management of the building. For a list of FCs, please visit the Housing Facilities Staff page.
