The Multicultural Greek Council is the governing body for the 6 culturally based fraternities and sororities on campus (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Lambda Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and Pi Delta Psi Fraternity). The Multicultural Greek Council exists to develop and maintain fraternity life and interfraternal relations between the six culturally based fraternities and sororities on campus and the greater Carnegie Mellon Greek community. The MGC through their programming efforts, encourage scholastic achievement among its member organizations and individuals, provide a forum for discussion and to develop action strategies regarding issues relevant to the MGC community, coordinate semester activities and service related events to ensure adequate cooperation and harmony among member organizations, and strive to promote cultural awareness in the Carnegie Mellon and greater Pittsburgh community.
Each chapter has a designated person that attends Multicultural Greek Council meetings every other week. Additionally, men and women hold executive officer positions on the Multicultural Greek Council.
