How to Give to Your Chapter
The Student Life Office in partnership with the Office of Annual Giving and Student Activities has created Oracle string accounts for each fraternity and sorority at Carnegie Mellon. Each organization has two accounts, an operations account and a gift account.
Money in the operational account can be used for any purpose the chapter deems sufficient, however donations into this account are NOT tax deductible by the donor.
Money donated to the gift account must be used for scholarships, leadership development, and certain housing improvements.
Money donated to the gift account is tax deductible by the donor.
