About Greek Life
The Greek community at Carnegie Mellon University has a long, rich tradition of fostering student involvement on campus. Fraternities and sororities have been a part of the Carnegie Mellon community for over 100 years. Since 1900 students have chosen to become members of fraternities and sororities at Carnegie Mellon because of the advantages the organizations provide. A tradition as rich as Greek Life offers students an opportunity to experience leadership development, to serve the local Pittsburgh community, to network with local alumni and make life long friendships. Greek letter societies were founded on the ideals of leadership, scholarship, community service and friendship. The fraternities and sororities at Carnegie Mellon University continue to uphold these ideals.
