Minimum Expectations

Enrollment and QPA:

RAs must be enrolled full-time undergraduate or graduate students. RAs are expected to enter the position with, and maintain, a cumulative QPA of 2.25 or higher.

Time Commitments:

RAs will be expected to work a minimum of 18 hours per week during the 2008-09 academic year. As such, prior approval is generally needed before engaging in additional employment, a course load in excess of 55 units, or any significant outside activity.

Attendance:

RAs will be expected to participate in pre-service training during the Spring 2008 semester (as determined by the Housefellow). For the 2008-09 academic year, RAs will begin their employment as early as August 8, 2008 (as determined by the Housefellow). RAs are expected to participate fully in all house opening and closing activities each semester, including final closing which will occur on May 18, 2009. RAs are also expected to participate fully in the first year student orientation program.

Room Assignment:

RAs are assigned to a designated staff accommodation and as such must maintain a Housing License Agreement with Housing and Dining Services. The room rates for 2008-09 have not yet been confirmed, but please consult the 2007-08 rates to gauge relative room rates associated with various housing options.
