Community Collage

The Community Collage is a presentation that utilizes students' experiences, personal reflections and performance to present the diversity of the Carnegie Mellon community. The goals of the program are:

  • To introduce audience members to the diversity within in our community;
  • To create a shared experience and provide a foundation for dialogue, cross-cultural and cross-community interaction, and intellectual discussion about multicultural issues;
  • To make a statement of respect and appreciation for cultural differences within an inclusive community.
The program is presented to incoming students each year during First-Year Orientation and in January as part of the campus activities celebrating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Each student is responsible for writing his or her portion of the program.
