The Pre-College Program is now accepting applications for the following positions:
For over three decades, Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Program has provided high-school age students the opportunity to experience college life at a major university prior to their entrance to Carnegie mellon or another institution. Currently, the program draws over 450 students to a six-week program each summer. Students may participate in one of the following program areas:
- Advanced Placement/Early Acceptance (APEA): two Carnegie Mellon courses covering a full semester's material in mathematics, sciences, computer programming or the humanities and social sciences
- Fine Arts Programs: Architecture, Art & Design, Drama or Music
- The National High School Gaming Academy (NHSGA)
Pre-College Mission Statement
The Pre-College Program upholds the mission and values of Carnegie Mellon University while providing high school students with the opportunity during the summer to experience a collegiate atmosphere that will allow them to grow academically, culturally and socially.
The Pre-College Program provides a safe, comfortable and challenging environment in which students can explore their acadmic and artistic pursuits wihin the foundations of Carnegie Mellon's world-class academic programs.
The Pre-College Program also strives to foster growth in each student's peronal independence, global awareness and appreciation of diversity, as well as, to support their social, psychological and physical well-being.
