Linda Gentile
Linda Gentile is one of OIE's three Foreign Student and Scholar Advisors; she works with students and J scholars in three colleges including the College of Fine Arts , H.J. Heinz School , and the School of Computer Science . Her focus is on immigration and visa issues, personal and social/cultural issues. She is OIE's specialist on procedures, the OIE website, and J Scholar matters.
Her prior professional experiences include more than 15 years of service as a Foreign Student/Scholar Advisor at a neighboring university. Linda is an active member and sought-after presenter for NAFSA: Association of International Educators; she is currently serving as NAFSA's Vice-Chair for International Student and Scholar Services, Policy & Practice Committee, a national elected position. Linda obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Grinnell College and her Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh .
Linda likes working at OIE and CMU because she can work with a great, interesting group of people--coworkers, students and scholars, staff and faculty and she feels as if she learns something new everyday.
