Lisa Krieg
Lisa Krieg is the OIE Director and advisor to H1B, TN, O and other foreign employees of Carnegie Mellon. In addition to administrative and advising responsibilities, Lisa organizes non-resident tax services and activities for the International Spouses and Partners Organization (ISPO) and is the primary contact for media inquiries. Lisa chairs the OIE Foreign Student Advisory Committee, serves on several University-wide committees including the International Student Task Force and Committee and the Steering Committee for Globalization, and presents to faculty, staff, and student groups on international issues upon request.
Lisa brings with her over ten years of advising experience, as well as overseas living experiences in China and Taiwan and extensive travel in Central America , Africa , Asia , the Middle East and Europe . Lisa is a member of NAFSA: The Association of International Educators and has presented at regional conferences on small college admissions and issues that impact directors.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies from Cornell University and a Master of Arts from Columbia University/Teachers College in Higher Education Administration (focus on international educational exchange), Lisa draws upon her education to conduct her daily work in OIE.
Lisa most enjoys working individually with students and scholars in the advising and small group setting, and getting to know OIE's wonderful volunteers during tax and orientation seasons.
