Settling in Guide
Welcome!
Welcome to the United States, Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Mellon University! We are glad you have chosen to come to Carnegie Mellon. We hope to get to know you better over the course of your stay.
Please use this Settling in Guide as a reference as you prepare to come to the United States and during your first weeks on campus. Refer to this guide as you travel to Carnegie Mellon and as you settle in to the community. The Settling In Guide has been written to help our various international populations adjust and get to know Carnegie Mellon University. The Guide has many sections with general information. Certain sections pertain to specific categories or students or scholars. We define the categories as:
- International undergraduates (F & J students)
- Exchange students from non-US partner institutions (F students)
- International graduate students (F & J students)
- International scholars (J-1 researchers, professors and short-term scholars)
OIE will provide many more details to you during your orientation program.
Please visit the OIE web site for more information or contact the office with your questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
OIE Staff
