H1B Checklists for CMU employees
The following checklists are meant for reference by employees who are or will be employed in H1B at Carnegie Mellon. For petitions that will be processed through the Office of International Education (OIE), these exact checklists will be used by the hiring department for the collection and organization of materials to be used in the H1B petition. For petitions that will be processed by a pre-approved immigration attorney, these checklists should serve as a general guide only, realizing that individual preparers will have their own unique "way" of preparing a strong petition.
In some cases, more than one list must be used. For instance, if a person is changing from F-1 to H1B status and has dependant family members, three lists are used including (1) New H1B Checklist, (2) New H1B and Change of Status Checklist, and (3) H-4 Dependant Family Members.
- New H1B Checklist
- New H1B and Change of Status Checklist
- Extension of H1B Checklist
- H1B Change of Employer Checklist
- H-4 Dependant Family Members
