- OIE Social Security Number Form
Continuing students and scholars, use the Student/Scholar Request for OIE Servicesfor the following requests:
- Travel signature for an I-20 or DS-2019
- New I-20 or DS-2019 for replacement or correction
- I-20 or DS-2019 for a spouse or child*
- Travel letter (H-1B only) or to drop off a request for signature on the OIE Social Security Number Form
*Students or scholars may need to show additional financial support to receive a dependent I-20 or DS-2019. Email oie@andrew.cmu.edu for more information.
Print the form out, fill it in completely, and drop it off at OIE. Our processing time for a new I-20 or DS-2019 is five business days, and three business days for a letter or signature.
Incoming students and scholarsshould receive the necessary paperwork to obtain their initial I-20 or DS-2019 from Undergraduate Admissions or their academic department. Please do not use the request form above!
To obtain a Pennsylvania Driver’s license or State ID card, continuing students and scholars must use the Drivers License/State ID Letter Request to obtain a letter from OIE that is a required step of the drivers license/state ID application process to verify an applicant’s immigration status. Print the form, fill it in completely and drop it off at OIE. Our processing time for these letters is three business days.
Processing Times:
Do not wait until the last minute to request or process documents. Allow one week for the preparation of new documents such as the I-20 or DS-2019 or for a routine letter of invitation. Allow three days for an advisor's signature on the I-20 or DS-2019. The receptionist at the OIE front desk will tell you when you may return to pick up the document. If you do not allow enough time for processing, you will be asked to leave a self-addressed, stamped envelope and we will mail the document to you when it is ready; you may also be charged a late fee.
