Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Insurance
Q: Can I come onto the university's contracted Student Health insurance plans early? What about COBRA coverage once I leave?
A:We can't let you enroll early, and, if you are not a returning student, your plan ends July 31 of your final enrollment year. A more complete explanation and suggested alternatives can be found here.
Q: I'm interested in enrolling into the insurance plans, but the enrollment forms ask for my mailing address in the United States. I don't have one yet. What should I do?
A: Here are some suggestions for how to handle this dilemma.
Q: What does family coverage mean?
A: Family coverage refers to the student's spouse, domestic partner, or children. These family members may be added to a student's plans, but not, for instance, the student's mother or father.
Q: Can I cancel my insurance policies and obtain a refund?
A: While you can always cancel your medical, dental, or vision insurance, there is no refund of premium for dental or vision. For medical insurance, there are conditions governing the refund of any premium.
Q: I see some fertility benefits are available. Can you tell me more?

Q: I am not enrolled on the medical insurance contracted through Student
Health Services. Can I still use the Student Health Clinic, and how will
the charging work?
