International Students: Important Information!

International students should coordinate their arrival in Pittsburgh and on the CMU campus to attend the following events:

  • Move-In Day:
    Saturday, August 20 between 10:00am and 3:00pm
  • Mandatory Immigration Information & Check-in Session: 
    Sunday, August 21, the time and schedule for these sessions will be sent to you

You will be welcomed as you move in with your first year classmates on Saturday, August 20. International students must attend a mandatory immigration information session and check-in which will take place during the Welcome Day activities on Sunday, August 21. The Office of International Education (OIE) will provide additional details, via an email to the your Andrew ID (Carnegie Mellon email address), about this session and other sessions of particular relevance to international students and their families in the coming months. A Settling In Guide, answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and information about orientation will also be posted on the OIE website. Any student who has lived outside of the United States and is not on a student visa is also welcome to attend the Immigration Information Session; however, be sure to email OIE to let us know you plan to attend.
