Senior Leadership Recognition

Recognizing the outstanding contributions of Carnegie Mellon seniors in academics and research, athletics, the arts, community service, and campus engagement this honor is designed to acknowledge the top ten percent of the graduating seniors for their broad campus contributions.

Senior Leadership Recognition

The Senior Leadership Recognition will be presented annually to graduating seniors who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and made substantial contributions to the community during their time at Carnegie Mellon. While we have many talented and involved students in each graduating class, this recognition is reserved for those students who have made an unparalleled impact on our community. In other words, these individuals leave Carnegie Mellon a better place as a result of their vision, leadership and initiative. Each recipient of this recognition has created a unique imprint on the culture and life of this institution through his or her contributions to academics and research, the arts, athletics, community service, or community engagement.

The following themes and criteria may assist you in framing your nominations:

Academics and Research: Outstanding nominees will have excelled academically by demonstrating superior aptitude in their academic field of study while advancing research and making unique contributions to the intellectual life of the campus community. Nominees may have engaged in focused, individualized work on a sustained independent project, enhanced the community's commitment to academic success, or demonstrated superior initiative in applying knowledge in the community.

Arts: This category acknowledges the artistic accomplishments of the Carnegie Mellon student community by recognizing outstanding contributions in design, architecture, art, music and drama.
