House Communities
Welcome to Carnegie Mellon University's house communities. Carnegie Mellon offers are variety of living options for its students. Whether you are a first year student leaving home for the first time or an upper-class student getting ready to move on after graduation there is a living option that will fit your needs. Options range from traditional residence halls with community restrooms and lounges to apartment living both on and off campus.
Regardless of you living style each house community is staffed by a Housefellow, Community Advisor and Resident Assistants. Housefellows are full time professionals who oversee the house experience. Your Housefellow is a great resource for those tough questions or situations when you need a little more guidance. Community Advisors are undergraduate or graduate students who live in the community and help to supervise the Resident Assistants and create the best living experience for the community. Resident Assistants are undergraduate students who are responsible for building the community in the house. Your RA will provide opportunities for your academic, spiritual and social development throughout the year. They are knowledgeable about campus resources and are available to help out with your Carnegie Mellon experience.
