Attention students! Have you heard of the new Take a Tartan to Work Program being offered by the Career and Professional Development Center? By participating, you can gain hands-on exposure to assess your “fit” in different work environments, clarify career goals and direction, and better understand the connection between academics and the world of work. Sponsors around the country are offering you the opportunity to come and spend the day with them at work: March 8 & 9, 2012. There are also informational interview opportunities. An application is posted on TartanTrak and will be available until the deadline, February 1, 2012. All interested applicants will be asked to complete a Student Acknowledgement and Release [.pdf] form.
Matching Process
The CPDC will notify both the student and the sponsor of the proposed match details. The student will be given the sponsor’s information and it is their responsibility to make the initial contact. Students will be expected to abide by the sponsor organization’s policies and procedures, and may be asked to sign liability and confidentiality agreements by the sponsor organization during or prior to the visit. Failure to sign such agreements may mean the visit cannot take place. Participation in this program is entirely voluntary and students will be responsible for their own transportation, accommodations, and expenses related to this experience.
