Tuesday, May 8 - Out for Work: Meet and Greet with LGBTQ Students
UC - McKenna - 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Riley Folds, the Executive Director of OUT for Work, will share with students information about OUT for Work and the resources available to them through the CPDC’s certification.  Riley will also be answering questions about students’ career development, including their resume writing, internship and job search, and how to locate inclusive work environments. OUT for Work is the only national non-profit organization dedicated to educating, preparing, and empowering LGBTQ college students for the workplace.

This event will have snacks and refreshments available and is a great way to take a break from studying for finals. Register for this Meet and Greet event via TartanTRAK.

As you start your first job or summer internship, join us to learn how to act like a professional employee. We will discuss: what kinds of questions to ask, what to wear, when to use emails or texts and more. We will also answer questions about offer terms such as 401K, stock options, and health benefits.

Wednesday, April 4 - Exploring Your Skills as an Engineer

CIT students will explore their proficiency and motivation in transferable skills areas, such as generating ideas, making decisions and being innovative. Then there will be a group discussion on applying these skills as engineers to the world of work.

This workshop is designed for international students planning to work in the U.S., and will provide an introduction to the work culture, as well as tips for working in the U.S.  Perspectives and advice will be shared by a career consultant and a current international student.
