How do I host an information session?

How can I promote my Information Session to students?
The best way to promote your Information Session is to email the students who submitted their resumes to your recruiting event. Invite them and alert them of the time and location. You can use TartanTrak to do this.

You can also promote your Information Session by sending electronic invitations to students. We post all company presentations to our students on TartanTrak. We can post the date, time, location, presenter, and brief notes. If you would like us to list your target audience or dress code, please let us know.

The Career Center can also send out a targeted email to students of a specific school or major, including students who did not submit a resume to your job. Please send your draft email to gmarnell@andrew.cmu.edu AT LEAST 10 DAYS BEFORE YOUR EVENT. Please include any preferences you have about the recipients, such as their class year, major, or school.

Can I use my own materials? How would that be handled?
The Career Center can receive supplies you ship for your own use. Please mail them to:

Carnegie Mellon University

Pittsburgh, PA 15213-3890

You MUST pick up anything you've mailed to the Career Center before 6 PM. We do not have the staff to bring the material to you, so please plan accordingly and mark the materials clearly with your company name and address.

Can I request help from a CMU representative during my event?
We can provide you with a student ambassador to assist you throughout the evening. The ambassador can assist you with AV, room setup, errands related to your presentation and general troubleshooting. An ambassador should meet you at the beginning and end of your Information Session and ask for your feedback. We value your input and use it to tailor the services we provide.
