TartanTrak Facts

TartanTrak, Carnegie Mellon's customized component of MonsterTRAK, provides students with a web-based system available online 24/7. Registered students can search for campus jobs, part-time and full-time jobs and internships, store their resume, and participate in on-campus recruiting, mock interviews and resume drops. TartanTrak provides students with a convenient website to manage their job and career needs.

1. Jobs & Internships
Here you can search for campus jobs, internships, co-ops, full and part-time jobs

2. Interview & Connect with Employers
(InterviewTRAK)

Here you sign up for on-campus recruiting, mock interview, resume drops. Search for jobs, internships, co-ops, and full time jobs with employers who have scheduled campus visits.

In addition, you can find out about employer presentations and information sessions and keep track of the resumes you have submitted and interviews that you have signed up for.

Typical Posting/Sign-up dates timeframe
Note that since these are typical time frames only, students are responsible for
checking exact dates.

  • Resume submission is available from the date posted to 21 days before you can submit a resume. (This is default).
  • Employer selects interviewees 14 days in advance.
  • Pre-selected students sign up 12 days in advance, until 2 days before interviews. Signup begins at 3:00 am EST (Pittsburgh Time).
  • Alternates have access for 8 days, until 2 days before interviews
  • Sign-up closes at 2:59 AM EST (Pittsburgh time) the day before the interviews.

Your Resume in TartanTrak
1. Uploading your resume into TartanTrak does NOT automatically sign you up for any interview! Employers can only view a resume if submitted for a specific job posting.
2. You can update a currently loaded resume but you should not delete it. If you delete it, you will not be able to retrieve it and employers will no longer have online access to it. This means that the resume will be removed from all schedules to which you submitted it. A warning message will appear stating the consequences of deleting the resume.
