TECH SUNDAY 2008 – Transition from Student to Professional

Sunday, September 14th
11:00 am - 5:00 pm
University Center

***Registration is now closed. Please feel free to attend the Networking Session at 4PM in Rangos Ballroom***

Tech Sunday is an annual career development program designed to efficiently provide students with basic and practical information necessary for career planning. The event typically hosts an audience of well over 450 enthusiastic undergraduate and graduate level students from a variety of colleges and majors at Carnegie Mellon.

The focus of Tech Sunday evolves each year to address pertinent topics in career and professional development. This year, the focus will be on business etiquette, communication, and interviewing.  As you prepare to search for an internship or job, the real challenge begins as you navigate the minefield of the business world.  In addition to “college knowledge,” a successful candidate needs to understand the interview process and how to approach the first introduction into employment.    For those serious about managing first impressions in the internship or job search and landing that opportunity with ease and confidence, Tech Sunday 2008 is a must.

In addition, there will be a panel of experienced recruiters that will answer student questions and offer their individual perspectives on job fairs and interviewing to help students enhance their skills and prepare for the upcoming recruiting season.  Tech Sunday will conclude with a networking session that will allow students to informally interact with employers.

Important information to consider if you plan to attend Tech Sunday:

  • Students MUST register to attend this event and registration does fill quickly.
  • All majors are welcome to attend.
  • Lunch is provided for the first 450 REGISTERED Tech Sunday participants.
  • Dress is casual, but keep in mind you may come in contact with recruiters.
