Competitions can be an important part of building a performer’s career; they provide exposure, valuable experience, and networking opportunities.

Contact your studio teacher for help with the following:

  • What competitions would be appropriate for you at this time in your career
  • What repertoire to perform
  • What attire would be most appropriate
  • How to address the adjudicators/audience

Contact Harriet Schwartz in the Career Center for help with the following:

  • Preparing applications and recommendations
  • Figuring out ways to fundraise money for the fees and expenses that may accrue from entering a competition
