Summer Events
Summer Events are comprised of a slate of programming that takes place during the summer months for students who are on campus to explore the diverse opportunities available in Pittsburgh and here at Carnegie Mellon throughout that time. This slate of programming includes Kennywood, Sandcastle, Pirate Games, Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium and other exciting adventures at a discounted rate.

Of Monsters and Men

Of Monsters and Men are an indie folk band which formed in 2010 in Reykjavík, Iceland. The band released their debut album “My Head Is an Animal” in September 2011. The album’s single “Little Talks” peaked at #1 in Iceland, and became successful in the United States after extensive airplay on Philadelphia rock station WRFF and subsequent word of mouth. In April 2012 the tune became their first entry on the US singles chart, when it entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #92.

Laurel Caverns Spelunking

Caving is the more contemporary term for what is popularly called spelunking. It refers to going into a cave completely in its natural state. Due to its conservation mission, Laurel Caverns is the only developed cave in the world having its largest rooms and passages completely in their original state.
