Waterfront/Homestead

waterfront

A variety of stores organized quaintly like a town square

Located in the borough of historic Homestead, and renovated from an abandoned steel mill (only twelve grand smokestacks remain), the Waterfront has been transformed into a one-stop shopping and entertainment area. This area boasts a variety of stores spread out over a large plot of land, with one area organized quaintly like a town square (with, of course, a Starbucks at its center). The Waterfront also offers a diverse selection of dining and entertainment.

The Waterfront is home to branches of several chain stores such as the Gap, Abercrombie and Fitch and Victoria’s Secret. There are also some discount warehouses like Filene’s Basement and TJ Maxx where you can unearth retail treasures if you have some time to sift through the racks. Many of the stores are within walking distance of one another.

There is a large movie complex, Loews Cinemas, with large theaters and state-of the-art technology – the place to see big Hollywood blockbusters on their giant screens with a big bag of popcorn.

The Waterfront is also home to several large food and entertainment places. Parking can be tricky because of the large number of people that flock to the complex on Friday and Saturday nights, but there is a large lot so you should be okay if you persevere. There are also some entertainment venues, like Dave and Buster’s, Funny Bone, and Sing Sing Dueling Pianos that are worth checking out.
