Student Organization Financial Authorized Signer Training


The Office of Student Activities is invested in educating our student organizations on fiscal responsibility and account management best practices.  The office has developed a training session for Student Organization Authorized Signers.

*Note:  You must receive direct training from our office in order to become an Authorized Signer.  Viewing this presentation alone does not equal receiving training.

All student organizations recognized by Student Government, that have accounts held in the Office of Student Activities, must have one to two Authorized Signers.The purpose of this training is to go into more detail regarding the financial processes and procedures for accessing and spending your student organization monies.

Authorized Signer training is mandatory for all student organizations each Fall semester.  This year, Tthe office is requesting that individuals register for this session in order to gain a clear picture of which groups attend and to gather Authorized Signer information for our office's use.

Spring Authorized Signer trainings are available for new organizations and those undergoing officer transitions. 
 
*Organizations may not access their accounts until they have at least one Authorized Signer

To sign up to attend one of the training sessions, please complete the form “Spring 2014 Authorized Signer Training” located on the Student Activities page on The Bridge.

For previous Authorized Signers wishing to opt out of training for the 2013-2014 academic year, and continue their Authorized Signer status with an organization this year, please copy and paste the following link into your browser and complete the form called “2013-2014 Authorized Signer OPT OUT OF TRAINING” form on The Bridge.  https://thebridge.cmu.edu/form/start/25380 

You will be added to the Authorized Signer quiz on Blackboard within 2-3 business days, at which time you should take the quiz as soon as possible.  Please be sure to review the Authorized Signer Training PowerPoint presentation located on the Student Activities website:  http://www.studentaffairs.cmu.edu/StudentActivities/info/responsibility/authorizedsignertraining.html

You must pass the quiz (missing no more than 3 questions) on your first attempt to be automatically updated as an Authorized Signer for your organization. In this case, you will not need to attend training.

If you do not pass the quiz on your first attempt, and you still wish to be an Authorized Signer for the 2013-2014 academic year, you will still be required to attend one of the Authorized Signer training sessions and take/pass the quiz at a later date.
