Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) Available to Carnegie Mellon Students, Faculty, and Staff

Student Health Services offers over the counter nicotine replacement therapies (NRT), including patches, gum and lozenges.  Students, faculty, and staff can purchase these over the counter NRT at Student Health Services at a discounted cost.
Remember, NRT only helps with the physical part of addiction. NRT should be used in combination with a cessation program to address both the physical and mental parts of addiction.  This approach – using NRT with a cessation program – has been shown to double a person’s chances of quitting!

Other forms of NRT (nasal spray and inhalers), as well as non-nicotine medications, are also available to help with cessation.  These treatments are available by prescription only.
