Body Aches & Fatigue
Body aches and Fatigue are common complaints that are associated with a number of issues, including viruses. For example, it is normal for fatigue to persist for a few weeks or so after a runny nose, fever and muscle aches are gone. This is due to the response of your immune system to the illness. The best thing you can do for the tiredness is to go slow with activities and get lots of rest and eat a proper diet on a regular schedule. For the muscle and general body aches you can:
- Take an analgesic such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen
- Get plenty of rest
- Avoid activities that might cause excessive muscle strain
- Eat a proper diet
If the body aches and fatigue do not improve after several weeks or other symptoms of illness develop, then you should contact Student Health Service for an evaluation.
